Yes, we have been attacked by these auto-logs. There is no doubt whatsoever.
About 8 people have been approved for our forum since we changed our way of letting people register. The rest, and there have been many, were all pure spam. Yes, there are ways of finding out.
So, to protect our members already here, and to keep these spammers from our site, we have implemented registrations to "ask".
It will not guarantee that just because someone is listed as a "forum spammer" they will get approved. They constantly change IP's and e-mails and user names.
But, it does mean we can limit them.
